Car sharing is a remarkable innovation in personal transportation in the 21st century.

This mode of personal transportation involves a short-term arrangement of renting a car. It is an urban car rental service wherein the customer who is a registered member can make reservations for a rental car for a period of time, as short as one hour. The customer can pick up the car at the designated place in their vicinity, and can return that car there.

This trend is now slowly increasing in popularity in Japan, specifically in the urban areas, though it is not as widespread as in North America and Europe.

Mazda Car Rental Corp. has been lengthening its horizons on car sharing industry throughout Japan starting July 2006.

Ishikawa Prefecture of Kanazawa City is the first full-blown car sharing system in the provincial operation and was launched last 2006 of November with the partnership of Hokuriku Railway Co., Hokusei Industry CO., the city management and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. In here, pre-registered customers can receive points that could be utilized as fares in the bus. Renting environmentally-friendly cars is preferred, for sure!

The largest group in the car sharing industry, the Ornix Auto Corp., began a novel service last 2007. They focused on car sharing service for dwellers in the condominium. They opened their services at five condominium residence structure and plans to offer it to seven buildings by the end of 2009.

The CO2 emission problem seems to have taken the world over by fear. People are getting more and more afraid of the problems that pollution caused by the normal fuels are causing and they know that one day or the other disaster will strike the world. Apart from this there is the fact that the reserves of natural fuel is going down drastically and there are hardly natural fuel reserves left that will be able to serve the world for more than a few decades. Once this stage reaches either the cars will stop running or there needs to be some alternative fuels that will help to keep the cars running.

Most major auto dealers, including Honda are researching and trying to come out with cars that run successfully on alternative fuels. Honda had unveiled its FCX clarity, a car that is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the Los Angeles auto show. Those who are familiar with this show know that the latest alternative fuel ideas are often unveiled over there. The Honda FCX clarity is fashioned on a concept vehicle that had been launched by the company in 2005.

Initially a limited number of these cars will be leased out to some privileged drivers of South California. It will be offered for a lease period of three years at $600 per month. This will make it the first fuel cell driven car that will be available to the general public.

HHO gas is getting a lot of raves right now. It is the technology that uses water as an additive to gasoline to achieve better mileage and lesser emissions. The idea is to boil water so that hydrogen and oxygen gasses are produced. Hydrogen gas is then added to gasoline so that it would burn more efficiently. The result? A huge savings on your gasoline consumption.

To make this happen, there’s a need to install two containers that will hold the water to be processed. Expect bubbles and vapor inside the container, as you look at it under the hood of your car. Technically, the devices’ job is to make the water evaporate. To install such devices and make use of the HHO gas technology, it would cost a car owner something around $400 to $900. But your car’s mileage would increase from 3 to 5 mpg so it should be worth it.

However, this new technology is still under the scrutiny of the EPA. Whether it should be considered merely as a gasoline additive or an entirely new engine technology is the big question. But interested car owners can try it now though, if they go to some private garage with mechanics well-versed about the technology.

Here are some great additional tips to help you go further in your care with less gas. Implementing as many of them as you can will really help you to be less affected by high fuel prices. They don’t show any sign of going down in the near future so it is wise to find ways to save money.

First, do your best to commute as little as possible. If you find it is always busy in the mornings and evenings when you go to and from work, leave home earlier. By doing so by about 30 minutes you can beat the congestion and save fuel.

See if your boss will allow you to leave 30 minutes earlier too in exchange for coming in before your scheduled time. It can really be helpful. If not, use that time to balance your checkbook, write a letter, take a walk in the vicinity of where you work, or any other way to kill time. That way you won’t be taking time out of your day later on to complete such tasks.

It is understandable you may not be able to trade in your gas guzzler for something that uses less. If you have a large family, a lease, or you have paid off your vehicle and don’t want another payment is it all understood. Yet you must balance their comfort with what you can afford.

However, you may consider getting an older compact vehicle as well. By investing a bit of money in such a vehicle you can use it commute to and from work. This is a great way for you to save money on the cost of gas. You can use your normal vehicle when you travel out of town or you have the entire family with you.

It is wise to start looking into this option now though. As gas prices continue to soar they are being purchased rather quickly. If you have one you no longer need put it for sale and in no time at all you will have plenty of potential buyers coming your way.

Do try to carpool as much as you can to and from work. If you can trade of weeks of driving with a co-worker you will cut your costs in half. Check to see if other parents on your children’s sports teams are willing to carpool as well. This way instead of everyone taking a trip to and from the practice field each night you can do so only a couple of times per week.

So not only will it be saving you time but it will save you going to the gas pumps as well. That is certainly something to smile about. It is great when kids are involved in activities but it can be time consuming which mean you have more to do in the evenings. You will find collaborating with other parents is beneficial in more ways than one.

Get more organized and plan your week as well. For example if you need to go to the bank then hit the dry cleaners, post office, and other places in town at the same time. Plan your meals and create a menu so you aren’t making additional trips to the grocery store either.

Read First: Drive more Fuel Efficiently 1

Many places where you can drive allow you to exceed 60 miles per hour. It isn’t uncommon to find signs for 75 miles per hour on busy highways and freeways. It is important to understand that you will decrease the amount of miles per gallon when you are over 60 miles per hour. So to be able to go faster you are going to have to accept the fact that you are burning more fuel to do so.

This one is quite a dilemma as you don’t want to be the turtle on the fast road. If you choose to drive at a lower than posted speed you need to stay in the right hand lane. That way you aren’t obstructing traffic and being a danger to yourself and others.

In many ways that is the practical solution though so you will want to continue at the posted speed limits. If you are following the strategies of the other hypermiling guidelines though you should still end up getting more miles out of each tank of gas.

When you aren’t moving, your car is idling. Turn off your vehicle to save you on gas. Many people let their car idle to warm up in the winter and then to cool down in the summer. If possible place your vehicle in a garage so you don’t have to let it sit outside collecting frost or for the sun to beat down upon it.

In the summer time you should also consider running errands early in the morning. This way you won’t be relying upon the air conditioner to keep you cool. This is a very big waster of fuel for your vehicle. If you are using it quite often you will notice you are going to the pumps more often than normal.

If you are stuck in traffic for any length of time, you also want to turn the vehicle off. This way you won’t be wasting fuel or allowing the engine to overheat. A good rule of thumb is that if traffic is at a standstill for more than five minutes to shut the vehicle off.

Do your best to avoid common bottleneck areas as well. It may be due to road construction or to rush hour. It can also be the result of not enough lanes for all the traffic. If you will be traveling those roads often see if you can find alternative roads. You can access interactive maps online where you enter point A and point B. It can then give you several routes to get there.

Even if the alternative is one that is several more miles, it can end up saving you fuel in the long run. You will need to experiment so you can decide for yourself which route works best for you. It would be nice if the alternative was able to save you both fuel and time.

How much do you currently pay per gallon for gas? I am guessing it is close to $4 or more right now. If you can save 1/3 of that then you will be cutting back that cost by more than $1 per gallon. The exact cost will depend on other factors such as your vehicle and the cost of gas in your area. Yet you can see how that savings is going to add up.

I am sorry before if you have know the method on how to cut our gasoline bill in half, it make this is not secret for you:). This method is not mine, because I just read this method to cut your gasoline bill and I think it will be good to sharing here. If you think that the method here is good for you, you could try it, but if you disagree with the method, just left your message here, because i want to know ..Why? Probably other people here want to know at the same question with me..

And here is the good method on how to cut your gasoline bill in a half.

How To Cut Your Gasoline Bill In Half
By Myla Madson

I don’t know about you, but with gas prices the way they are, I’m struggling just to survive. I’m a single mom with four kids, a mortgage, auto loan etc.

Spending hundreds of dollars a month on gas for my car is absolutely ridiculous! What really gets me mad is, not only have the oil companies driven the price of gas up, they are in co-hoots with the auto makers and the Federal Government to keep automobile engines running inefficiently by manipulating the fuel to air mixture ratio to convert the fuel you put into your car into only 25% actual energy for movement and the rest is unburned and blown out your tail pipe.

This inefficient burning also is bad on your engine, thus ensuring failure within twelve to fifteen years, if you’re lucky.

When I found out the technology currently exists to create a gasoline/water hybrid that would cut your fuel expenses by 50%, I was furious.

I’m not talking about hydrogen fuel cells either. I’m talking about a very practical and inexpensive system that separates the water molecules into what is called Brown’s Gas which mixes with the gasoline and allows it to burn more efficiently, drastically improving gas mileage while reducing engine wear.

Did you know that you can actually build one of these systems and install it in your vehicle in less than a day? And for under $150.00?

I was shocked to hear about it as well but actually saw it in operation. My neighbor added it to his car a few months ago and cut his fuel cost by 80%.

You don’t have to modify your engine either. In fact, you can remove the system in under three minutes…not sure why you would want to though.

I’ve installed one on my car recently and it really was as easy as my neighbor claimed it to be. I’m a woman who has trouble changing a light bulb so if I can do it, anyone can.

I’ve seen a drastic improvement in engine performance, no more knocking and my fuel mileage is way better. I’m tracking it over a few months so I know exactly what I’m getting but my wallet already feels the relief!

Want to build one yourself? I have a guide at my website that will show you, step by step how to make this hydrogen generator. It’s freakin awesome and the government can’t do anything about it! Got to http://MylaMadson.com/hybrid

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit

There are plenty of ways to save money on gas, but the most effective way is to actually reduce the amount of gas you use. When we find we must use the car to reach our destination, there are tricks that might cut back on gas consumption.

 Steps

Drive at the speed limit. This is the single most effective solution at increasing efficiency. The most fuel-efficient speed is the point at which your vehicle shifts to high gear. For most vehicles, this is somewhere around 50mph.

Try to avoid traffic on busy days or times when it is raining or barometric pressure is high. Rain and high barometric pressure create extra wind drag that uses more fuel to create forward motion.

Get rid of any unnecessary weight in your car, like golf clubs or unnecessary tools.

While keeping a safe distance, avoid using your brake unless you need to. People often use their brakes for no apparent reason; This slows forward motion, converting it into heat energy. In the future, cars will be equipped with systems in which braking power will be converted into reusable energy, but it is highly unlikely that your car has this technology.

Every time you punch the gas at the green light you are burning extra fuel. By accelerating slowly you are only using the fuel required to get the vehicle to speed.

Drive smoothly. It takes more gas to allow the vehicle speed to drift lower and then accelerate back up than it does to maintain a certain position on the accelerator. Allowing the car to lose speed going up hills and gain speed going down increases efficiency.

A dirty air filter will rob the engine of power and efficiency. It will use more gas than a clean filter. After market air intakes allow more air and increase your MPG on a larger scale than performance air filters. Make sure you have an Oil Change regularly, and have the air filter changed if needed.

Keep the tires inflated to the proper pressure. Keep a tire gauge handy and be sure to check your tire pressure more often when the outside temperature changes frequently. Having properly inflated tires dramatically increases your traveling distance on a tank of gas. Improperly inflated tires have more rolling resistance and this will cut down your miles per gallon (MPG).

Tune-Up at regular intervals: changing spark plugs, wires, and coil. The better your engine performs the more power it will get using less fuel.

Use synthetic oil in your car to save on average 5% gas. As a bonus, less oil changes are needed saving trips to the Mechanic as well as less used oil in the environment.

 Tips

Keeping your car tuned up will dramatically increase your mpg.

Keep your tires on your vehicle properly inflated at all times.

Be careful with the gas station you use. All gas is not the same and different engines may respond better to different fuels.

Keep track of your fuel economy so you can quickly identify when your car is in need of a tune-up. Three or four consecutive tanks of poor fuel economy may be an indicator of needed maintenance.

Reduce the number of times you drive by thinking ahead. For example, buy dry goods in bulk (saving money) so you don’t have to make a special trip for a single item.

Walk to your destination, if possible.

 Warnings

Follow regular maintenance, and read the book that came with the car. The cost of oil changes might seem expensive, but in the long run it will save gas, and save you money also.

You shouldn’t tailgate other people to conserve gas. Though this may help reduce wind drag, it is illegal and unsafe.
