The CO2 emission problem seems to have taken the world over by fear. People are getting more and more afraid of the problems that pollution caused by the normal fuels are causing and they know that one day or the other disaster will strike the world. Apart from this there is the fact that the reserves of natural fuel is going down drastically and there are hardly natural fuel reserves left that will be able to serve the world for more than a few decades. Once this stage reaches either the cars will stop running or there needs to be some alternative fuels that will help to keep the cars running.

Most major auto dealers, including Honda are researching and trying to come out with cars that run successfully on alternative fuels. Honda had unveiled its FCX clarity, a car that is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the Los Angeles auto show. Those who are familiar with this show know that the latest alternative fuel ideas are often unveiled over there. The Honda FCX clarity is fashioned on a concept vehicle that had been launched by the company in 2005.

Initially a limited number of these cars will be leased out to some privileged drivers of South California. It will be offered for a lease period of three years at $600 per month. This will make it the first fuel cell driven car that will be available to the general public.

In Portland, students have committed themselves to living green and creating a healthier environment through their chosen careers. Such students, more particularly those who belong to the automotive-related courses, are putting their focus on making green cars for the future. In line with this, they have hosted an event called the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day.

At the event, students are introduced to hybrid cars, electric cars, and cars that are primarily powered by natural gas or biodiesel. Part of the symposium is to educate students how to install the electric configurations of green cars, as well as the proper way of running natural gas stations.

The goal of the symposium is to make sure that the newer generation would be more exposed to the possibilities of using alternative fuel for cars instead of depending entirely on imported oil. The goal is to make the streets cleaner and greener in 20 years. Hydropower and windmills are not part of the past. They can still be use today to make this world a better place to live in.

The Oregon leg of the Alternative Fuels Day is actually a part of a national project where in 90 more cities in the United States will be exposed to these concepts.

Jatropha is one plant discovered to contain oils that can create biodiesel when processed. Known as the Voodoo plant, high priests and priestess from long ago use these plants to heal diseases, especially the ones that affect the digestive system. Also, this plant is known to have the power to release the souls of the dead and cleanse evil spirits.

Jatropha is not an edible plant. It produces a rather poisonous sap and has a small, rounded fruit as big as a cherry. It is very abundant in Haiti and the entire Caribbean region. The seeds of Jatropha can produce oil, which can serve as the raw ingredient for biodiesel.

Right now, the U.S. and the rest of the nations interested in using alternative fuel are studying the characteristics of this plant in order to cultivate them in their own soils. Just recently, the U.S. has partnered with Brazil to help countries that enjoy the abundance of the Jatropha plant to process them into biodiesel. Such countries are Haiti, El Salvador, St. Kitts and Nevis, and the Domican Republic. Once these countries became strong producers of biodiesel, it won’t be long for them to become independent of importing gasoline themselves.

If you’re from New York, more particularly from the Schoharie County, then you’re in for a treat. A biodiesel pump has finally opened up for business last Thursday. Now you do have an option. You can get imported gasoline for your car or the fresh new biodiesel. So which one is it? The one from Iraq or the one from vegetable oils?

The trend in the Schoharie County, as far as the vehicle industry, is to go green. With a pit stop now offering biodiesel, more car users should be tempted to use alternative fuel for their car.

Coming from renewable energy, biodiesel is much cleaner, more efficient, and a lot more popular these days. In fact, Pete Lopez, the assemblyman for the Schoharie Country is promoting its use. Furthermore, he uses no other fuel for his car.

Part of the plan of Schoharie County is to make all the operators and owners of the public buses to run only on biodiesel. If that one went smoothly, then the entire fleet of the county, especially the one used for public works, will be fueled by biodiesel alone.

With this development, it is clear to see that counties and the whole nation in general, is doing its share to promote alternative fuel that is more practical to use and is a lot more environment-friendly.

The US House of Representative is definitely keen on the possibilities of using alternative fuel in contrast to imported gasoline. As such, they have passed a house bill that aims to provide tax credits and money grants to car manufacturers that are going to create cars running on electricity or biodiesel. As a result, the production of such cars is in full speed ahead, with General Motors confirming the sale of their hybrid car, the Chevy Volt in 2011.

Also included in this bill known as the House Resolution 6899 is a section that mandates gasoline stations to have at least one pump to sell alternative fuel to consumers in every station. The projected implementation date of this bill is in 2018. Major gas stations such as BP and Shell are expected to comply. Alternative fuel would mean natural gas, ethanol, biodesel, or hydrogen.

Should the gas dealers fail to follow this mandate major fines in the amount of $100,000 is going to be bestowed upon them. But looking on the bright side, should the same company choose to add an ethanol or E85 pump in each of their stations, a tax credit worth $50,000 will be granted.

Mississippi State University’s chemical and environmental engineering departments are out to develop an alternative fuel or biodiesel coming from products that are easily available within the State. The group manning the project consists of fifty graduate students, ten post doctoral research associates, and eighty faculty members. This one is indeed a major collaboration of minds and experiences to come up with an alternative fuel that will not only benefit all of Mississippi but the entire American nation as well.

The main objective of the project is to create an alternative fuel that can power cars. Raw materials to be used would come from nuisance plants, crop residues, wood, animal waste, cotton gin trashes, including human and animal wastes. Certain non-food products and organic items will be tested as well.

The group is looking to create volumes of liquids that can be refined and converted into diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, or anything that can be used to run a vehicle. The group wanted to compete directly with imported gasoline, both in cost effectiveness and functionality. Just recently, they were able to create alternative fuel out of wood chips that is very similar to diesel and gasoline. However, this development inside the lab has to be tested in larger scales to be proven effective.

Nowadays, irreversible energy supply become lower and lower. And some years later they will be gone. And do you ever imagine when there are no more gasoline in gas station? What will you do with your Car?How do you go to your college or your office?Walking?Running?no..no, all of people will say NO (Loudly:D). If your office is only one or two mile from your house, that will be OK if you must walk to your office. What about if your office is 100 miles from your House? Are you ready to walk every Day?

Irreversible energy will be Gone, and they need million years to exist again, and no one want wait for that long to get a new source of energy. So, many scientists try to find an alternative energy and that energy must be renewable not unrenewable like fossil energy.

When i walking around bloggers, I found interesting article written Alternative Energy Blog, he wrote about University Research into Alternative Energy:”University involvement in alternative energy research is also going on at Penn State University. At Penn State, special research is focused on the development of hydrogen power as a practical alternative energy source. The researchers involved are convinced that mankind is moving toward a hydrogen-fueled economy due to the needs for us to reduce air pollution and find other sources of energy besides petroleum to power up the United States. Hydrogen energy burns clean and can be endlessly renewed, as it can be drawn from water and crop plants. Hydrogen power would thus be a sustainable energy resource to be found within the US’ own infrastructure while the world’s supply of (affordable) oil peaks and begins to decline. The University seeks to help with the commercial development of hydrogen powered fuel cells, which would be usable in place of or in tandem with combustion engines for all of our motor vehicles.”

We must support every research on alternative energy to save our future, so you could drive your car again in the future . And do not forget to check the advantages and disadvantages of biofuels, one of alternative and renewable energy, to know more about biofuels and see that for two sides.
